In the aftermath of the Paris attacks, many of our friends, families and communities are scared. The overwhelming power of "what if" races through our minds and we often don't have an answer. We take solace in the fact that we live in the greatest nation in the world and pray that we don't see that type of violence in our lifetimes.
Then we are reminded of the reality of the evil in our own society. It doesn't matter what you think of Planned Parenthood, it only matters that what happened was as brutal as it was cowardly. #Terrorism, #domesticterrorism, #activeviolence, #activeshooter, it doesn't matter what you call it, it is unfortunately the coward's last resort. These cowards prey on our fear. And we are afraid because we don't know how to ACT.
Ke'Arre Stewart knew how to act, and made a difference. He was a First Care Provider trying to help others. Using the experiences learned from his time in the military, Mr. Stewart shows that everyone can make a difference. Actions and Communication are key to survival. Treatment is often necessary. Ke'Arre Stewart is a hero that his children can be proud of.
Changing our FB cover is easy, making a change in your community is hard. It can be done. It must be done, but we must first make the decision to ACT.
